Never Be Your Barbie Doll
I don’t wear the cool clothes I have my own kind of style And I don’t even suppose I have the perfect smile
My complexion isn’t flawless And I don’t wear makeup But I could really care less About all of that stuff
I’ll never be your Barbie doll My looks aren’t perfect And I’m not that tall My hair’s not blonde And my clothes aren’t too small
Now, I know you’re no Ken I don’t expect perfection You’re not like other men You’re headed in the right direction
Our lives are much deeper than plastic Our eyes see beyond the outside shell Our emotions stretch farther than elastic And our minds are able to excel
I’ll never be your Barbie doll My looks aren’t perfect And I’m not that tall My hair’s not blonde And my clothes aren’t too small
Now don’t ask me to change I won’t ask it of you I like you the same Don’t want someone new
We don’t want to be like Barbie and Ken They had some issues and broke up in the end I don’t want to repeat their mistakes Don’t want to end in another heartbreak
